First commercial Internet entertainment network and Westwood Studios team up to provide members with latest release
SAN FRANCISCO November 22, 1996 A specter is haunting the Internet the specter of communism. Total Entertainment Network (TEN) (http://www.ten.net) today announced that it has joined forces with Westwood Studios (http://www.westwood.com) to bring Command & Conquer Red Alert to TEN. This joint alliance summons thousands of TENs members to defeat or join this virtual phenomenon which takes place over the Internet.
TEN, the first commercial Internet entertainment network that allows for true nation-wide play, has signed an agreement with Westwood to bring Command & Conquer: Red Alert to TEN. In December, Red Alert joins Westwoods best-selling strategy game Command & Conquer® on TEN.
Red Alert, the next installment in the Command & Conquer Universe of Games, follows on the heels of the PC CD-ROM smash hit Command & Conquer. In Red Alert, game players are thrust into an entirely new alternative reality with a compelling storyline that sets the stage for the original Command & Conquer.

To sign up for the TEN service, people can go to http://www.ten.net and download the software or request a free CD-ROM. Technical support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1/800-8040-TEN. Customer support is available daily 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. (PST).
TEN recommends a Pentium 90 with Windows 95, 16 MB RAM, 28.8k bps modem and 2X speed CD ROM. The minimum requirements for using the TEN network are 486/66DX2, Windows 95, 8 MB RAM and a 14.4k bps modem.
Command & Conquer Red Alert is the latest title from Westwood Studios. Formed in 1985, Westwood Studios has consistently released popular titles including: the Eye of the Beholder series, Dune II, the Kyrandia adventure trilogy, Lands of Lore , Command & Conquer and Monopoly for the Internet.
